Imported Burrata Cheese

Our exquisite Burrata, a fresh artisan cheese imported directly from Italy 2 times a week, is made from cow’s milk, rennet and cream. It is one of Schatzie’s very favorite cheeses. Rennet is a complex of enzymes that help separate the solids (curds) from the liquid (whey). While the outer shell is solid mozzarella, the inside contains both mozzarella and cream, giving our Imported Burrata a sublimely rich flavor and a soft, buttery texture. In fact, Burrata means buttered in Italian. It is usually served fresh, at room temperature, and must be eaten within 24 hours once the package is opened.
